You have a product and don’t know how to sell it? Are you just thinking about where to start but no idea what to do? Then you have come to the right place. This article gives you an in-depth view of what you need for marketing your product.

The first aim of marketing is to know and understand what people really need. If you create a product that meets the needs of people then the product will market by itself.

Marketing is about communication, perception, and building a human connection. Advertising, sales, and copywriting are different components of marketing.

Communication skills:

Communication is the most important aspect of marketing. Your communication must be crisp and clear about your product or service so that it reaches the target customers which leads to good sales.

Good communication does not mean speaking good English, it’s rather a transfer of your thoughts about the product or service. Communication in marketing is all about sending the right message, to the right person, at the right time.

Writing also improves your communication skills. The more you write, the better you understand so that you can communicate well.

Digital vs. Traditional marketing:

Traditional and Digital Marketing is the practice done by companies for the sales of their product or service. The only difference is the medium that they use to market their product.

Traditional Marketing uses channels like Radio, Newspaper, TV commercials, Billboards, Posters, Hoardings, catalogs, etc.

Digital Marketing uses digital channels like websites, social media, mobile apps, etc.

Which one is better? Traditional or Digital?

Traditional Marketing doesn’t mean it’s old fashioned. Both play an important role in a marketing strategy. You need to choose between them based on the target audience.

The reach of digital marketing is nowhere close to TV based on statistical numbers alone. If it is a generic product with very wide targeting, then a TV commercial is the best option at a low cost. Digital Marketing is the best medium to reach the affluent English speaking population in India with spending power.

Advantages of Traditional Marketing:

  • Impactful and easy to understand.
  • Printed marketing materials like magazines are more permanent.

Disadvantages of Traditional marketing:

  • You cannot personalize the communication.
  • You cannot do deep marketing and natural sales.

Advantages of Digital Marketing:

  • Through digital marketing, you can physically see what your audience thinks of your brand.
  • You can measure the marketing campaigns which makes your leanings extremely clear for the next round of marketing efforts.
  • A clever targeting is possible in digital marketing

Disadvantages of Digital Marketing:

  • Digital ads can be annoying.
  • As it constantly evolves, it is difficult to get the most out of it. Each channel requires its own specialist.

Direct response marketing:

Direct response marketing is a marketing technique designed to get a quick response and take action. The goal of direct response marketing is to convince customers to visit a website, read a blog, or some desired action.

Examples of Direct Response Marketing:

1. A newspaper ad with a phone number to call.

2. A late-night infomercial with a phone number to call.

3. An ad leading to a landing page with a lead form.

4. A sales page with a link to purchase a product.

The CATT Marketing Funnel:

A Powerful marketing funnel is a key to a successful business. The CATT Marketing funnel framework is proposed by Digital Deepak. It consists of five phases explained below.

Wealth =n^CATT

[n]Niche: Choosing your profitable niche is very important for success and wealth.

[C]Content: Create detailed meaningful and useful content that drags attention from people from your niche. Blog posts, videos, lead magnets, live webinars, etc.

[A]Attention: Drive attention (traffic) to your content using SEO, Social media, paid ads, and referrals.

[T]Trust: Build trust with your audience with tripwires, marketing automation, and retargeting.

[T]Transaction: Convert your leads into customers with natural sales methods.

Once your niche reached a saturation level, you can invest your wealth into another niche. So the effectiveness of your CATT determines how much wealth you create.

Integrated Digital Marketing:

Integrated Digital Marketing is a plan that involves all the methods of digital marketing available today.

For instance, Create a website with good design, write related content on the website and post it on social media which redirects to your website increases website traffic and get email list for email marketing, using SEO tools, make your website appear on top of the search, run huge paid ads or pay per click ad campaigns and so on.

The main idea of the integrated digital marketing is that every individual method may not have much impact on its own, when used in conjunction, you can create a more influential online presence.

Personal branding:

Personal branding is creating a brand around a person rather than a product or business entity. A personal brand becomes an influencer and a brand ambassador of companies that they run. A personal brand can’t be invested or sold but it can give rise to many brands from their influence.

Evolution of personal brand:

Learn: One shouldn’t stop learning at any point in time. Learning is not a destination, it’s a journey. Learn a new skill through concepts, facts, and procedures. Understand the concepts. Remember the facts and practice the procedures. Learn by reading good books and articles, use pen and paper while taking notes, it improves your understanding.

Work: Start working on the skills you learned. First practice and then implement it. Just learning doesn’t help you with anything.

Blog: Write articles and blogs from your learning and experience. This will also build your personal brand.

Consult: Talk to different people in your niche and build a network.

Mentor: Mentoring and guiding others will help people who want to become like you. Mentoring will help you scale your understanding to another level.

Startup: Launch your business with your learning and experience that you have developed about the market.

The personal brand creates trust in you. The above image is the MassTrust Blueprint which is a cycle of actions that you can repeat again and again to build a personal brand.

Conclusion:

In a nutshell, Marketing is not just selling products, it's rather selling thoughts and ideas to the target audience.

A good marketer uses various strategies that work for her/his business and make the business successful.

Finally, I would like to add one more point that a marketer should remember i.e. every marketer must learn about Global Economics because it helps to make decisions in your business.
